How would you spell this name?

Question

Just curious. My mom wanted to name me Sadhbh, which is an Irish name, but wasn’t sure if American kids could pronounce it (sighv)
She suggested Sive, but thought people might say sivv like a sieve. The name was very quickly vetoed by my dad, but i did end up growing up in ireland anyway so it wouldn’t have been much of a problem! 
some other variations are Sadb, Saibh, Sadbh, Sadhb. is it just an impossible name? I think it’s so pretty

Just looks like a typo to me but I’m American. And I would have no idea how to pronounce it other than starts with “sad” 
And Sive just looks like size misspelt to me but again I’m American.

I'm an American adult, and I'm not sure how you want it pronounced, even after reading the explanation.  Sigh-vee, SIve, something else?
American kids will have no clue how to pronounce that and your kid will always be explaining it to others, probably adults, too.

I am an American who works as a reading specialist with a focus on phonics. That being said, I wouldn’t even attempt to pronounce Sadbhb. I would have to ask for an explanation.

I think most kids and teachers would see that and not know what to do with it. The name itself is lovely, I’ve never heard anything like it but the traditional spelling would look like gibberish to most Americans. That being said parents in Utah give their kids all sorts of crazy spellings for normal names like ￼Teighlor instead of Taylor or Bryttenay instead of just Brittney and kids survive.

Irish American here ✋🏻 I think Saibh would be a recognizable version. Go for the Irish name if you love it. It will take a minute for people to learn, but they eventually will! My sons name is Ciaran Tadhg-very popular in Ireland but not in the US!

I’m in Australia and a friend of mine just named her daughter sive spelt that way and I think it’s beautiful they are Irish tho so it’s not unusual for them our daughter is called Saoirse and honestly nobody can say it when they read it but they are both such beautiful names that I don’t think it matters they will get use to telling people their name and spelling it constantly I think just spell it the way you want.
