PIP plans...
Are they death sentence? Little background...I went to work for this company a year and a half ago, when a private company left us with a huge mess. I have 300 people on my caseload with cases that need closing, appt days where I see 80 plus people in one day, court days, tolling orders that have to be done, warrants that have to be done, petitions, etc.
I thought I was a little behind on work but no more or less than my other coworkers. My boss gave me until April 17 to “improve” (I.e. get caught up). She drafted a performance improvement plan. Not impossible, but it’ll require working weekends or OT to get caught up...and I’m not being compensated for those hours.
What are your thoughts? Are PIPs just a way to terminate someone? Nervous, because if this is the case it’s going to put my husband and I in a bind financially. I’ve never been in this situation before.
