i have dated several guys before, whether that be long-term or short flings but i've never fallen in love before my current boyfriend. he's absolutely amazing and i'm so grateful that he's in my life. we're in college and we're long distance but its been going so well. we really understand each other on a deeper emotional level. to me, he is the most funny, kind, and amazing man i've ever met and i can't believe i have someone so amazing. anyways, i met him at church when we were in high school and we became really good friends for a probably about 6 months, as i was dating someone else. i would definitely consider him my best friend at this point because we always had so much fun every time we hung out, yet when i had an issue or i was sad, he would rush to my side and really make himself known as a really supportive friend. well, my relationship turned toxic and i started doing things that i really shouldn't have been doing, nor did i want to do before dating the guy and i ended up breaking up with him because he was trying to convince me to have sex with him. having sex is something very serious for me, as i wanted to wait for someone who i share a genuine love with and so i didn't want to just give myself away. he didn't take it that well and began to scream at me because, "all of [his] friends are hooking up with girls and [he's] not getting any action." so, i decide to end it, which was really upsetting for me. i call my current boyfriend (before we were dating) and he immediately drops everything and drives over to my house within the first sniffle that i made when he answered the phone. he stayed up all night with me, which was fine because our parents both knew that nothing was going on, and he talked me through it. after about 7 months of being single and hanging out with him, he finally asked me out (he's very traditional and asked my dad if it would be okay first). we had our first kiss about 3 weeks later in the rain and it felt like a movie. he asked me to be official about a month after our first date, when he showed up to my house with flowers. we've been dating for almost a year and we talked last night about having sex and i think i'm ready because i genuinely love him and see a future with him. i'm so happy
