Solid foods
My daughter will be 8 months old on the 8th.
As her pediatrician recommended, we started introducing her to solids at 4 months. She hated most of the things we gave her, but we still tried at least once a day to get her to eat something. Oatmeal cereal, rice cereal, store bought baby food, and I made a bunch of different home made purees and even have been trying to see if she'll just pick up steamed, super soft vegetables and eat it like that. I've tried so many different levels between liquid and paste. She just is not having it. She'll cry. Squeeze her mouth shut. Shake her head back and forth. Hide her face in her hands. Every. Day. It's as if I'm trying to poison her. She'll even act stand offish towards me for a while after I clean her up and take her out of the highchair.
This is just crazy to me. Before I had her, I was a nanny for 12 years. A dozen children, I've introduced food too. From 4-6 months. The same way I tried with my daughter. But all the children I've nannied ate the food. Maybe not at 4 months, but always by 6 months. Some times it was hard but I always figured out what worked for those kids. But with my own baby... I can't figure out a solution. It's sad and frustrating to admit it. But. I am at a loss. I dont have any other tricks up my sleeve.
Anyone have any advice or at least experience this?
