Caffeine ?

I hear mixed things things about caffeine? 
I love coffee! I don’t mind having to cut it out but is it possible to drink coffee while not having an effect on the baby?

You can drink caffeine. I drank 3-4 cups a day with my 2 babies.. and I drink it while breastfeeding too, doesn’t effect my LO. 
They ‘recommend’ 200mg & under.

I drank a Venti Caramel Frappuccino or a tall Caramel Macchiato daily while pregnant. My baby is 1 month old and she is healthy. I had a healthy pregnancy and birth. No complications at all. JUST MAKE SURE YOU DRINK LOTS OF WATER!

You can drink up to 200mg of caffeine a day, unless your doctor limits you more. But there is no way for it not to effect the baby. For some, it may effect the baby more, depending on your sensitivity and what it is exactly you’re drinking. But in reality, everything you eat and drink goes straight to the baby. At a certain point, the baby can even taste what you eat in the amniotic fluid.

From what I've heard, you typically want to avoid it as much as possible in the first trimester but that you're fine to have a little after that. I was never much of a caffeine drinker so I basically just didn't have any my whole pregnancy. Best to ask your doctor about it and they can help guide you in the right direction!

I drink a double latte from Starbucks 3 days a week, and the other days I have one cup of drip at home. Totally fine- standard rec is less than 200mg. I haven’t stopped drinking coffee at all this pregnancy, just reduced my intake.

You’re fine. I’ve had 1-2 cups while pregnant with all 3 of mine. Just stay under 300mg of caffeine a day. If you like Starbucks they have the caffeine content of drinks of their app. caffineinformer.com is also a great resource! I also drink the same amount while breastfeeding. My girl doesn’t seem to mind.
