My unexpected perfect preemie

Candice

Because of my GD and the baby's size I was moved up to high risk at 31 weeks.

I was basically living at the hospital with all my appointments, but felt very well looked after. I had ultrasounds every other day.

On Monday I went in at 2:30 for a scan. When the technician didn't return, but instead a dr I knew the news wasn't good.

The baby had run out of fluids and needed to come out ASAP. I was a bucket of tears. My husband was job training in a city over 2.5 hour away, and I was convinced we would end up in the NICU.

It was a combination of determining how quick the csection had to occur vs could they wait 6 hours since I had eaten.

My surprise girl arrived at 35 weeks, weighing a whopping 6 lbs 13 oz.

We were discharged after less than 48 hrs because we were both so healthy and strong.

So thankful for modern medicine, and doctors who went above and beyond to ensure me and my little miracle made it out in such great condition.

Yikes!!! Yes Edit! 6 lbs!!!!! She is a chunky preemie, but not that big!
