When to introduce child into relationship

Question

I have a four year old son.. how long should I wait to introduce him to my boyfriend? I don’t want to wait TOO long just Incase they don’t bond or something goes wrong..

If u feel he is permanent and not someone who will just walk in and out of ur life.. then that's a good start.. I do believe it depends on how long u have been together.. I wouldn't trust someone if it's been a few months.. in my eyes.. u still don't know him.

I was introduced to my now step daughters as a friend of daddys.. kept it that way.for months before telling them what was up.  I was 23 and never been in this situation before.. followed my instincts and honestly it was a beautiful transition.  My SO ended up getting emergency then complete full custody of them 11 months later.. 
I'm the only mom role they have and they love me as much as I love them.

I didn’t meet my Husband’s daughter until we were together for 9 months (my choice, him and the mom were ok with it around 4 months)

I would personally keep the kid out of it until there is talk of engagement, serious commitment. The last thing you want is them bonding and then, maybe even a year or so later, having to explain why he is gone
