Ear wax buildup causing hearing loss (5 yr old)

Kat

My daughter has been having a bit of hearing loss these past 2 weeks(ish) but no fever, etc so I know it’s not an ear infection.

Today, her teacher at school called just to let me know that she took her to the nurse (my daughter has a tendency to Fake sick when she misses me- so her teacher just calls me and let’s me know what happens at nurse office if she’s not sick sick with fever vomiting etc)

Anyways her teacher said the nurse checked her nose throat ears and fever.

Like I said no fever and she said ears had no sign of infection BUT there was a HUGE ball of wax in on of her ears. And I asked if she had been having trouble at school she said yes.

I made a doctor appointment for 3 hours from now.

Does anyone know how the doctor will take care of this?

I vaguely remember when I was younger this happened to me and the dr cleaned my ear in office and it was so long ago but I remember the pain was awful.
