For those with natural hair, have you gotten highlights?

I want to get highlights in my natural hair, but I don’t want it to go wrong. And I also don’t want to bleach my hair. 
If you’ve gotten highlights, how did that go? Did you DIY or go to a salon? 
And if you wanted highlights but haven’t gotten them, what stopped you?

Just keep in mind some hair coloring can alter your natural hair pattern so if you’re doing highlights it might be a bit more noticeable. I did them awhile ago, reminded me of Reese’s PB Cups for some reason lol, but it was a major headache trying to manipulate my hair to all look the same texture/pattern after awhile. I would definitely recommend temporary dye.

I haven't but if your really want good highlights don't do it at home. You will end up in the salon afterwards anyways.
