Anyone had HSG imaging before?

My husband and I have been trying for over a year to have baby #2 with no luck. It took us 9 months to conceive with our first. My OBGYN wants to to get blood work done and do an HSG test (putting dye into my uterus to see if my tubes have any blockage). Has anyone had this done before? If so, is it painful? Long? Not too bad?

I read a lot of horror stories so I took the day off “just in case” but it was super fast and just uncomfortable.  I ended up going grocery shopping right after because I was completely fine.  I have a posterior cervix so it took a minute to get the catheter in but tubes were clear.  Staff was great and went over and showed me preliminary results so I left with a very positive experience.

Took 5 minutes and it was crampy and awkward feeling. No blockage

My doc warned me that it could be painful. It was slightly uncomfortable but that's it. I had no blockages.

I had no blockages and it was still very painful. I took a heavy dose of ibuprofen before I went. It was relatively short, maybe 5 or 10 minutes, but it was intense.

I had one and it was uncomfortable but not unbearable. It felt like intense period cramps. I took ibuprofen before hand and i brought my own pad because the one they give you for dye leakage is more like a diaper

Had HSG 3 months ago. It was HORRIFYING. But- apparently I have a super deep cervix and had scar tissue f my c-section. It was AWFUL. 2.5 hours of HELL. I pray yours is not like this.

Update: HSG test was quick and easy. No blockages and only mild pressure/cramping. Thanks for all!
