...3.5-4oz per session (combined) a good amount to be exclusively pumping? My girl is happy with 3.5oz bottles every 2-3 hours thru the day. I EP. She’s 2 months old.

Is it also true breastfeed babies generally don’t go over 4oz per feeding? I’ve heard the average for 2-6mo old is 3-4oz, but I’ve also heard 4-6oz as well. What have your babies done?

They should get 1-1.5 ounces per hour, so it just depends how long you go between feedings. Look into pace feeding. But you’re pumping a great amount! 😊

We do pace feed! And have the 0 nipple. She guzzles it if we don’t. 😂 occasionally she leaves some left.

If baby is happy with 3.5 then you getting 4 when you pump is just right. All babies are different. I EBF and when I took my son to daycare at 4.5 months I provided 4 oz bottles. The first day they informed me he demanded 6oz per bottle so I had to up my pumping frequency to keep up with him. But it sounds like you and your baby are synched up on supply and demand so that’s great. If baby wants more, she will let you know;-)

I nurse in the am and pm and pump at work. My 8 month old has been taking 4 oz breast milk bottles every 2-3 hours since she was 3 months old and I went back to work. She’s in the 67th percentile for weight and always seems satisfied after the bottle! Every once in a while she’ll be hungry and I’ll add another oz to one of the bottles but she’s never eaten more than 6 oz in one sitting and even then that was only once during a growth spurt.
