I’m 20 years old and I have been looking for a job for a while now but no one ever calls me back. I applied to ross and called about a week later to check on the status of my application and the manager was so rude. She didn’t even let me talk she asked what I wanted and when I tried explaining that I wanted to check on the status of my application she cut me off and said they’re not hiring then clicked. They still have the “now hiring sign” up and the job application is still online so I don’t really understand. I have some retail experience. I was a full time student so I thought maybe I’m not getting a job due to my availability so I decided to take my classes only on Tuesdays so I can work the other days. I applied to target 3 days ago and got an email saying they don’t have a role that matches my preferences but they believe I may be a good fit for target in the future so they’ll keep my application on file and reach out. I applied to Sally’s beauty supply, bath and body works, jcpenny, ulta, Walmart and I plan on applying more places. I really want to work. I want to start becoming more independent. Is it okay if I call them about a week later to check on the status of my application? Should I go drop off my resume? The other two jobs I’ve had, I didn’t do any of that but they called me for an interview. Sorry this is long but I just feel hopeless. I’d appreciate any advice 💗
