Weird Consistency in Blood

So I stopped my birth control about a month or so ago and I just got my first period after stopping. It was a couple days later than normal which was the norm before I started taking BC. But I noticed that the blood that's being discharged has a funky looking texture/consistency. Not to be too graphic but it looks like bright red ketcup. Thick like it too. Not sure if this is normal after stopping BC or of I should be concerned. Any tips?
