Mirena IUD question
I got my first iud put in 6 weeks after I had my second child. I had my kids 12 months apart so when the doctor put it in, she said my cervix was still dilated but she was confident that it wouldnt fall out or become dislodged or anything like that. It’s been 8 months since she placed it but I’ve noticed that I’m still getting a period (which i know isnt uncommon) but it’s a little heavier than it was before and it’s super irregular. I have no idea when it’ll show up. Is this normal? I have no insurance and right now our financial situation is tight and I can’t afford another medical bill to get it checked out, especially if nothings wrong. Just checking here if this has happened to others or if the problem fixed itself out. I will go to the doctor if it’s a serious cause of concern. I haven’t been on birth control in over 10 years and I was taking the pill then so this is all new.
A little background info, I’ve never had a thyroid issue (which I read can have an effect on mirena) the only issue I had was my levels were a little funky, I also had low progesterone but nothing serious when I was pregnant with my first child but everything was normal for my second child as far as I know. I had 2 different doctors for each child. The first doctor tested regularly for my thyroid but the second doctor didn’t after my first initial blood work so I assumed everything looked fine.
