If your S.O gets upset over something you wear, would you take offense to that and assume that he doesn’t trust you?

Definitely depends. If I was wearing next to nothing? Justifiable. If I was wearing something sexy or form fitting? I wouldn't let my husband stop me from wearing that. But he never would. We were out once and I was wearing some sweatpants that show off my ass and he noticed some guy checking me out, but he didn't freak and get mad at me, he just put his arm around me to send a message that I'm taken. Even after the fact, he told me about it, but he said he liked being able to say that I'm his. I know that he trusts me and I trust him, so if he started trying to control what I wore, I'd tell him to fuck right off

I think it really depends. Are you basically wearing lingerie or something that is just cute/a little sexy/form fitting? Also depends on how he went about telling you his feelings/opinions about it.
