Postpartum diapers/pads for FTM?

Question

I am a FTM due in 5 weeks and I’m trying to figure out what I should buy for postpartum care.
I’ve read a lot of people really recommend adult diapers, if i purchase them how many should I buy? Are they really worth it? Should I also buy some large pads for afterwards? 
I have my hospital tour this coming week, so I will try to find out what the hospital provides for postpartum. Should I buy extra tucks pads, anything like that? Thanks ladies! I just want to be prepared.

If you plan on nursing, get a thing of nipple cream, will help prevent them from getting chapped and cracking. I lived in my nursing tank tops too. H&M makes some cute affordable ones that are very comfy.

I just used the purple overnight always pads. I felt more comfortable in my own underwear than in the hospital mesh

I used Depends silhouettes adult diapers. I put long pads inside the diaper and changed the pads as needed in order to extend the use of each individual diaper since they were a bit of an expensive purchase. That felt more secure than the mesh underwear the hospital gave me and much more comfortable than worrying about ruining my own underwear. I found the pads would always move around inside the mesh underwear causing leakage. At night I would go pad-free and only have the diaper. Then, I'd start with a new diaper in the morning and use pads inside them again.
I had a c-section, so I had to protect my incision as well. I put another long pad on the inside of the front part of the Depends crossways to cushion my incision after the dressings were removed.

I got a lot from the hospital but I still needed more. I didn’t use adult diapers I used the largest overnight pads. I also bought some of my own tucks pads and I bought a frida mom peri bottle which is much better then the one the hospital provides. Also dermoplast is a must I went through that so fast.

I used what the hospital gave me! I loved them😂 just the really big pads. Plus I only bled heavy for 3 days and then was done bleeding by my 2 week appointment. (Had a 2 week pp appt due to pp preeclampsia.)

I preferred just wearing pads. I used the mesh diapers the hospital gave me for a few days and then switched to the heaviest flow pads. I typically use Always brand, and I used the purple and orange color pads until the bleeding lightened up.

I liked just wearing pads, but some like the adult diapers. I'd buy some of each and see what you're comfortable with.

The 18 pack of the Always Discreet diapers was perfect me. Had a couple leftover for my first PP period which was no joke. Wore the diapers for about 2 weeks then switched to my normal cloth pads.

I recommend always super overnight pads. I bought the biggest package I could find and only used half. Worked out bc I'm due with my second in two weeks and just going to bring the other half of the pads with me

Diapers were SO worth it. I wore them for the first 3-ish weeks PP. I bought the Always Discreet kind. Loved them so much. I switched to pads then and am still wearing them at just over 4 weeks PP. 
The hospital did provide some pads and the mesh underwear, but I didn’t like them nearly as well as the diapers. Just easier to have everything built-in together. The hospital DID come through on the Tucks pads (gave a container of 100) though. I would straight-up ask on your tour what is and isn’t provided.
