Taming hair recommendations?

Okay moms, I’m a first time mom and I know not to put product in babies hair.. but is there any natural product that won’t cause build up or harm my sons hair?? His hair is wild, after baths is the only time is looks good after I comb it down.. it’s a mix of curly and straight 🤦🏻‍♀️ I haven’t put anything in his hair, I might just have to keep putting water on it to get it to look decent! Lol..
