Why you chose not to get flu shot

Question

I’m going to ask my doctor at my next appointment about this for more information . I just wanted to hear why some pregnant women chose not to get the flu shot.

I didn't get it with my first pregnancy, but I did get it with this one. I'd just never gotten the flu shot and never felt a need. I'd felt like my immune system could fight it off if I got sick. But after I had my daughter, my perspective changed on it a little. Once she was 6 months when she was able to, she got the flu shot. Then I got pregnant again and I did get the flu shot. I guess I just think that during pregnancy and even in children, your immune system isn't as strong, so I find it more necessary. And I'll still give my kids the flu shot every year, and I might too. Becoming a mom definitely changes your perspective on things!

I only get it while pregnant. I got it because baby couldn’t and I wanted him to have the immunity from me getting it.

I have always gotten it because my father has Cystic Fibrosis which is a lung disease and the flu could be fatal to him. So it’s to protect myself but also anyone immuno compromised around me.  And it will pass some immunity to the baby since it’ll be the tail end of flu season when it’s born.  
Also my husband is scared of needles and vaccines so he doesn’t get the flu shot, so could bring it home.

I’ve never gotten a flu shot ever, pregnant or not. Neither do my kids. We vaccinate with everything else but the flu shot. It doesn’t guarantee that you won’t get the flu, and by the time the flu gets around it’s mutated into different strands. If the percentage of protection was higher then I’d consider it.

I did get it with my first and didn’t for this pregnancy, I didn’t get it with this one because I didn’t have anyone to watch my daughter (1 1/2 year old)  to go get it done and if I take her she always freaks out at the doctors because she thinks they are hurting me. So holding her to keep her from running around the doctors office and needles didn’t sound like a good idea.... I ended up getting type A flu and gave it to my husband and daughter despite them being vaccinated. It was awful and I’ll definitely figure out how to get the shot next year.

I didn’t get the shot and ended up with the flu b this year and it was TERRIBLE I hope I dnt get it ever again 
  I mean you can still get it if you come in contact with someone that has it 
And when it was offered to me I tested positive for it so lol I’d just get it

I didn’t get it with my first pregnancy mostly just because I’d never gotten it before and didn’t really think about it. Since the flu has been worse the last couple years, I got it this time and so did my toddler.

I never get it because the only time I get the flu is when I get the vaccine. So I definitely refuse to get it while pregnant.
