So I live in a small town with a hospital. It is literally 5 min away from my home. It would be very easy to see an ob there. The only problem is I have a few family members work there in the past and they all warn me to NEVER have a baby there. It is more expensive and she said there are horror stories that she can't talk about for obvious reasons. On the other hand, my friend just had a baby there and she said it was fine.

With my first child, I traveled about 35 min there and back to an outlying hospital. I loved my OB, and the service (for the most part) was pretty good. But it became a pain to travel back and forth, especially toward the end. And now I have a little one that will have to come to all the appointment and he does not travel very well.

So now with my second pregnancy, should I stay close and in town and make it easier on me, my little boy, and my husband? Or should I just travel for a cheaper and possibly better hospital? And with the OB I am familiar with?
