No bloodwork on urine test until 7 weeks?

Question

Did anyone else’s doctors office not confirm the pregnancy via urine or blood test? I called to say I got a positive on a home pregnancy test, and asked if I need to have bloodwork or anything done and they said no. And scheduled me for my first appointment. 
I conceived using clomid this cycle and had preeclampsia and eclampsia last pregnancy.

Completely normal. Bloodwork isnt routine by any means unless you have a history of complications.

I have kaiser. They were gonna make me wait. I kept going on about previous issues and how I wanted to be seen. 
Finally talked to a nurse advocate and they got me seen sooner. But I have an extensive list of issues so please know that too.

I’ve never had blood work done to confirm pregnancy. My GP sees me at 6 weeks for a urine confirmation and then you see the OB around 8 weeks

My clinic schedules me for a urine test despite me saying I have a positive at home just because they want it for their own records. Also from there they give me proof paper to take to wic and welfare and wherever else I need proof of pregnancy for. From the urine test they schedule my first prenatal intake is usually around 10 weeks I think and then they schedule my first ultrasound for when I'm 12 weeks. That's what they did with my first. In 5 weeks now with my second so I'm doing the same process

Yeah, I have my first appointment at 6 weeks just to chat with the nurse intake and then at 8 weeks I will have my first appointment with my actual doctor. No blood tests or urine tests until the 8 week appointment is what it sounds like for me.... it's difficult to wait. I constantly want to pee on sticks to make sure! 🤦‍♀️

I had the same today! Rang my doctors/midwife unit and they said to ring back when I’m 7 weeks and book then! So just the waiting game now🙄
