Idk me personally I could never watch the person I love suffer even id it meant letting them sleep on my couch I would do it. 
I’m by no means saying let him jump in your bed and act like nothing happen but I couldn’t watch my husband if we split sleep in his truck . That is just me . I would let him sleep on my couch but set clear boundaries and then if he couldn’t handle them tell him he needed to find some where else to stay but ofcourse we don’t know the whole story either

I agree with you. I would want problems resolved or in resolution I.e. counseling. If you were married I would say it’s a different story, but it sounds like you have some valid reasons to not allow him to move in with you. Trust your gut. Obviously I don’t know either of you, but the concern would be that he’s using you as a place to stay until he does get on his feet.
