How old were you when you got prescription eyeglasses ?

I was in kindergarten when I got glasses (age 5). My sister is 8 years older than me & she got her glasses a few months before that. I was jealous that she had glasses so I started telling my mom I couldn’t see so I could get glasses. 
Well, come to find out I have a astigmatism in my right eye, which is a lazy eye & did really need corrective lenses. I’m now 22 & have 20/90 vision  I hated having glasses after I got them & refused to wear them until I started driving at 16. Now my eyes suck even more than they did when I was 5.

I was 11. I'd been telling my mom for years that I couldn't see the board and she didn't believe me (had 2 older siblings with no vision issues, so she thought I just wanted them 🙄). Now 15 years later it's so much worse, I have astigmatism in both eyes and can't see worth shit without glasses or contacts!

I think I was preschool if not before. Now I wear contacts and they are -11.5(the higher the - the worse your eyes) I have to pay extra for thinner lens and I have to have the thick frames because how thick my frames are. I have been legally blind since 4th grade. If I dont have contact or glasses on to see my phone my thumb is resting on my nose and I can only see my phone with 1 eye since it's so close.

Couldn’t see the chalkboard in 3rd grade so I got glasses. I played softball and was catcher so I started wearing contacts in 7th grade. Been wearing them ever since now I’m 32!

I’ve had glasses since I was like 5. I remember the crossing guard on the way to and from school would always compliment on how cute I was in my glasses and make a big deal out of it so I would always make sure not to wear my glasses around her. Other than that, I can’t see otherwise and I have to wear my glasses.

Last September at the age of 27 lol. Have astigmatism in right eye. Husband convinced me to go for eye exam since I had never had one.

26. I have allergies. My eyes have been a little blurry since i was 18 thought it was allergies. I was still able to read until 26 when i realized i couldnt read some signs. He said i prolly needed glasses at 18 but it didnt become noticeable until 26. Im 30 now. I was -1.25 and now im about -2.

I got glasses at 15. And now at 27 I need bifocals. My eyesight sucks. I was born cross eyed and needs corrective surgery when I was 3. The muscles in my eyes are still super weak and sometimes I have to wear my eyepatch at night to help strengthen them. I’m high risk for retinal detachment too which is fun. Only cool/good thing about my eyes is I have naturally large pupils so I have never needed my eyes dilated and I have have always been really good about seeing things in the dark.

When I was 2 years old. My dad said I always threw them off and he eventually stopped trying to get me to wear them (he still has my very first pair though). Then in the 4th grade I got them again and haven’t gone without them since. I used to hate them, but now I LOVE THEM.

I have never needed glasses. My sister on the other hand, has a severe astigmatism and lazy eye and needed glasses as well as eye therapy at around 6-7 years old. Our father had the same thing so she inherited my dad’s eyes, unfortunately. Her lazy was corrected with therapy and glasses as a kid.
