How did you and your partner decide on having a second child?

What types of things did you consider/discuss? How far apart are your children? Would you go about it the same way if you could go back in time?

my daughter will be 2 and a half almost exactly when my son is here in may. my fiancé did not want to have another kid but i did. i wanted my daughter to have a sibling. obviously finances should be considered . do you mind haveing two in diapers at the same time, cost of formula, another person to provide for in general. space, is your house big enough for two little ones? daycare is huge. i’m a stay at home mom so for us it makes 10x more sense to have me stay home with them then pay someone almost my whole paycheck to take care of my own kids. we’re we emotionally ready to have 2 under 3? i’m scared honestly. scared my daughter will resent me or the baby because he will need a lot of attention and she is still so small to understand. i keep getting told treat them as equal and don’t play favorites. the idea of being up with a screaming baby 99% of the time and a crazy little toddler running around . my daughter is in a great routine and now it’s all going to change. so many things to consider when adding another one. i wanted mine to be close together but also to let my daughter enjoy her first year or so and then add her brother in.

We always said if we had children then we wanted more than one so they would have a partner in life and a stronger support system when we’re gone.
We wanted our kids to be 2-4 years apart. It took me a year and a half, and four rounds of Clomid, to get pregnant with my daughter, so we started trying a few months before her second birthday (expecting it to take a while). My doctor said I needed to TTC for 6 months then she would put me on Clomid again if I hadn’t conceived on my own. Well, 4 months in and I was pregnant! I couldn’t believe it! I maybe would have waited a little longer had I known I would get pregnant so easily on my own. I’m still excited that my girls will only be 2 1/2 years apart, though!

I said “ I want another baby.” 
He said “That’s great! Me too!” 
My husband and I will TTC baby#2 in April. Our son will be 4. We have a lot of events coming up so I’d rather not be pregnant during them. 
And that’s how that discussion went.
