Is something wrong?

Question

I had my anatomy scan at 21 weeks. At one point I was like ‘ is that her spine ‘ because it was so clear and obvious. It looked normal to me. 
When I went in to the doctor room she said they weren’t able to get a picture of her spine so they have to look next time. 
Kinda confused? Is this common to do if something is wrong

Sometimes they can’t get the pictures they need because the baby isn’t in the right position. This happened with my second daughter’s ultrasound where they were unable to get good pictures of her heart so I had to go back and get another ultrasound. Doesn’t mean something is wrong.

It’s normal for babies to not cooperate and have to re do the anatomy scan. No offense, but you don’t know what you’re looking at for sure. They may have just needed another angle :)

My first ultrasound so they couldn't get the heart although we did see it. I had to come back a different time to try again. Just means they couldnt get baby in the exact position needed.

I had this happen specifically with the spine. They got a few pictures but because of how baby was positioned couldn’t get all the angles they needed. Went back a few weeks later and got what they needed

We couldn't see the septum of my son's heart. Could mean he had a small hole, or could mean they just couldn't see it. We went back several weeks later and they could see it fine.
