Preterm labor! My story ~ I’ll edit it as things start to progressed more further”
Hi everyone my names Sam! I’m 19 & I’m currently 36 weeks & 4 days pregnant......for now.
-
-
I was admitted to the hospital(labor and delivery) after a routine ob/gyn appointment on February 10th.
-
-
My cervix was checked out at the appointment and my ob made a discovery that I went from 2cm, 75%, and -3 station to 3cm, 90%, -1 station.
-
-
Mind you I was having contractions since 7am that morning and at 12pm I had enough and went to my appointment early, which was at 1pm.
-
-
Afterwords she sent me to labor and delivery which I have been here since (about 1pm on Feb. 10th).
-
-
For a bout 1pm to 6pm I had not change but due to how severe the contractions were, they ended up giving me a mix of Morphine and Benadryl through the IV. It both knocked me out and thankfully helped with the pain.
-
-
After a quick 2 hour nap I wake up to the contractions returning, they weren’t bad at first, but then the iv meds start to wear off. I will tell you I have never experienced this bad of pain before in my life and I know I would get those heavy painful as could be periods but this was at least 10x that pain.
-
-
Eventually my cervix got rechecked and I was 4cm, 90%, and he was still a -1.
I was then admitted and not too long afterwards I was given epidural and I was so relieved once that started to kick in.
-
-
And now here I am at 2:37 AM with a wicked headache, trying to sleep or at least wait until 6am to when I get my cervix rechecked.
-
-
I’m scared and excited, but this is an experience I would never trade out for. 9 months I created my little man and now he gets to come out and meet the world 💙

•I will continue to update with everything that’s happening•
-
-
Update #1 {February 11th @ 4am} - My cervix got rechecked and I’m now 5cm dilated, 90% effaced and he’s still in the -1 station.
Update #2{February 12th @ 7AM} - I am proud to announce my baby has arrived!
So after getting checked again yesterday at about 6am-7am I was at 7cm and my ob broke the amniotic sac.

At about 9:30 I started to push and at 10:07am on February 11th 2020 being 36 weeks and 4 days my baby boy, William Joseph Ersek Junior, arrived weighing in at 6 1/2 pounds and measuring 18 1/2 inches💙
