How many sonograms?

Tomorrow I go in my second trimester and i’m transferring doctors! And I heard you have a appointment once a month. How many sonograms do they give you the second trimester? Asking in advance!! I love them so much lol. Thanks.

You usually only get 2 throughout your whole pregnancy unless more are medically necessary. a dating scan around 8 weeks and an anatomy scan at 20 weeks.

I get one at every appointment. He prefers doing it that way over just a heart doppler

It depends on if the doctor has a sonogram machine in office or not. Mine has one in office so I get an ultrasound every time. If your doctor doesn’t have one you don’t get as many.

My doctors office does 4 one at 8 weeks one at 12 one at 18 and one at 28

Typically you get one at 8ish weeks and one around 20 weeks. If you have bleeding or other issues they may have you get another scan. I go every 4 weeks, and starting at 28 weeks I'll go every 2 weeks. The just take a urine sample, weight, blood pressure and use the doppler to get the heartbeat. Unless you have a concern that's the standard appointment.

My appointments have been every4 weeks since 8 weeks. My drs office does one at 8-10 weeks for dating scan and one anatomy scan at 20 weeks unless there are complications in which case they schedule more. I have placenta previa and baby is measuring small so I have ultrasounds every 4 weeks for now

Depends on a clinic. I got one to confirm pregnancy, another as nt-screening on 12 weeks and one on 20 weeks to see if organs are correct. I know, that I have to go in every month, and later more often, but I will meet witha midwife, who is just making sure, everything is going well, but she won't give me sonograms. I also can request some, if I want to, but these I have to pay for then.
