Talking???

Someone help and ease my mind lol

I have already talked to my LO’s ped and they arent worried at all.

But I feel like my daughter should be really talking more than she should. Maybe I just feel this way from everyone bragging on their babies talking a lot.

My baby was born a month early but is very smart. Follows so many commands, can point out objects in books if asked, she baby babbles constantly. Like alllll the time, she will occasionally say “dada” or “du” for duck but thats it.

I read and talk to her constantly, we have flash cards and work on telling her what they are and any sounds the object makes.

Anyone else here??? Just me??? I feel so alone here.

Also due next month with baby #2 so it could be hormones. Just stressing.

You’ll see a few days ago there is a poll on this Oct18 group about how many words everyone’s LO’s are saying. There is quite a large group saying less than 5 words and 14% not saying any words.

I didn’t talk until I was two, but once I started talking it was BAM! all the words and never stopped. My parents said I had no issues communicating I just didn’t feel like talking.

My son is 16 months he says yea, momma and dadda and what also sounds like i did it. At his 15 month he was asked if he says 5 words and if not our doctor just said to always practice every baby is different and they will pick it up. I read to him 2-3 times a day and before giving him something i try asking him to say it (even though he doesn't) but i repeat it a few times to see if it helps. So some of his cars i will say "car... can you say car". I'm not worried though! Every baby is different i think following and understanding what we say to them is important to factor in!

My daughter says dada , mama , nana , and Alijah which is my other daughters name and says what’s that ..... i was also concerned because my oldest was talking way more at this age. But they are still little and will learn at there own pace

My son will be 16 months on the 19th & he is only saying about 3-4 words. I also talked with his pediatrician & he isn't concerned either. All babies learn & do things at their own pace that's how I look at it , everything will be fine.

My daughter ain't talking, just baby talk. I wouldn't worry to much she will speak when she is ready, sometimes it just takes longer for some babies.

No talking here. Not one single word. If LOs ped isn't considered then I would wait before sounding the alarms. I know it's easier said than done.

Our boy babbles a LOT but only a few actual words. In our case I put it down to him growing up bilingual too, I speak Swedish and my husband English so the poor boy has to work out two languages at once 😅

My son's vocabulary didn't blossom until after 2. He was talking, he had words but nothing really to write home about until after 2. He'll be 3.5 next month and the boy will say something to you and you think how the hell do you know what that means? Just last week he told me the chassis on his truck was broken. I had no clue if he used it properly or not, I had to Google it. (He did.) Basically what I'm trying to say is don't let what other children say/don't say get to you. I know it's easier said than done but I promise, she will start talking one day and never stop. Congratulations on baby number 2.
