Office jobs?

Question

Any moms out there work an office job? What’s it like easy hard? What’s normal hours what do you do? My job (factory) is closing in March and being moved to Mexico so I’m trying to see other opinions that I have.
UPDATE: So I applied for an office job and got the job. So now I need to know business casual what are some of your most comfortable clothes and shoes. I start Monday and I wanna be cute and comfy on my first day!!!!

I work in an office in trust management/client relationships. It’s a hard job, constantly busy and can be stressful, but! I love it, I work 9-5 Monday to Friday, currently pregnant with my second my daughter is 21 months old. My work is like my second family, they keep my mind sane aha and they’re very accommodating, however it depends more on the company I find than the job/office work in general. If it’s not a nice company to work and nice people don’t work there then it’ll be a crap job 🤨

I work in a corporate office doing customer service and other support type roles. I have a consistent schedule. They give me longer breaks than they are required to. Summer is the busy season and it can be mentally draining from listening to people talk all day long. I also stare at monitors all day. BUT I love my employer and it’s so nice getting off work and not taking work stress home with me like I used to when I worked in Sales

I work in the district office for a school district and it’s my first office job after working retail. I work 7:30-4, Monday through Friday. There are lots of jobs at school districts where you don’t need to be a teacher! And you don’t have to work in an actual school so it’s more peaceful (in my opinion) but you could also be a school office manager..

I work in a corporate office in a design department (I’m an apparel designer). I’m salaried and work a minimum of 40 hours a week, but usually more. Office is open Monday to Friday and I travel for work several times a year. I imagine the biggest difference between a factory job and an office job is your physical activity and the office culture. I’m on my feet a fair amount going to different meetings, fittings, and working at a design table, but I also have a personal desk space I work at a lot as well.. I imagine factory work to be a lot of repetition and standing on your feet (my parents own a manufacturing business so that is what I have in mind). I will also just say that in my experience office culture is different then what I think of for a factory culture or retail environment

I’m an accountant. I work an office job technically, but I travel each week to a different client (all within reasonable drive time, I don’t go overnight). Right now is my busy season so I’m working 7:30/8 am to 5:30/6 pm, depending on the day. During non-busy season. I work 8ish til 4ish. My start and ends times are pretty flexible I just have to put in 40 hours a week.

Easy vs hard is obviously subjective. Will depend on the industry you're in. I have an admin job in the medical field. My hours are generally a fairly consistent (rarely more than) 37.5 a week, and it's normal business hours (8-4ish). The day to day stuff is easy on the body, but it can be mentally challenging. All depends on the industry you're in. But physically, DEFINITELY "easier" than most jobs.

Do you just mean working in an office type setting? Or are you referring to being like a receptionist? Easy or hard and hours are going to very completely based on the job you want/get.

I work for a major chemical company and we source raw materials for the plants by reaching out to suppliers and managing pricing and contracts. I love working in an office. I make my own hours and can work from home whenever I want. Plus I am breastfeeding and they have amazing pumping accommodations! Its nice to get out of the house and not only be mom. Plus when my baby girl is old enough to understand, she will see her mom bringing home the bacon like daddy does!
