Is it normal for the ultrasound tech to push really hard with the wand? It was kind of painful!

I always swear I’m bruised after ultrasounds lol. But the tech should have probably gave you a warning about what they were doing.

Some times they have to push a little harder to get a clear picture. They have to check makensire everything working properly on baby sometimes takes some pressure. My little guy took some encouragement to let the sonographer see his heart. I also have an issue where a fibroid is being irritated by expanding uterus and left part just above naval was really painful . She just asked me to let her known if something pushed too hard. There were times she did need to push hard to get a clearer picture of baby

When I went for my anatomy scan she was pressing super hard but told me to let her know if it was too painful at any point bc baby was snuggled up in my hip bone she said . I think it’s normal but they should deff ask u if it’s too painful at anytime

The lady should have warned you when she was going to push hard. Mine did and yeah it’s Uncomfortable but they have to do it.  I think it’s unprofessional of her not to warn you or at least, poor bedside manner. Maybe she was having a bad day.

Some of them are more rough than others for some reason. At my 12 week scan it was like she was trying to push the wand through my skin.... But at my anatomy scan the lady wasn't so rough.

I just got back from my scan and had the same thing! She was so rough i swear my hip bone is gonna be bruised. Idk if it's normal but maybe theyre just trying to get the right spots
