Need advice with toddler

Every time I ask my little boy to say please or something before I give him what he asked for he has a meltdown. He just cries and won’t listen. I don’t want to give him and just give him what he wants because then he’s not learning manners. But man it’s hard!! It’s literally every single time: I don’t know what to do about it. Help!!
