Can I drink water before C section?

RN here, and third csection happening in 8 days! Normally for abdominal surgeries it’s no food or drink 8hrs prior. BUT! I just had my preop appt and  (this coming from Kaiser in California) there new studies out there about clear liquids before surgery. 
Bowel rest normally is no eating or drinking 8hrs before to shut everything down to reduce aspiration during anesthesia. 
But they’ve found that it’s harder on the body to then “start it all back up” (takes time) after an abdominal surgery. 
I was advised no eating 8hrs before and clear liquids (see through) 2hrs before. 
NOW, this being said this is a csection which is spinal anesthesia and a lower risk overall for aspiration instead of being “knocked out.” 
But overall the best thing is to always follow your doctor and in a csection case the anesthesiologists advice.

The instructions for my upcoming scheduled c-section are nothing (not even water!) after midnight the night before the surgery. My surgery is scheduled for 10am, if that helps.

We allow water until 6am if a morning caesarean or 11am if afternoon.  No food though after midnight at my trust, but others allow you to eat until 2/3am for morning surgery and 6am if afternoon.

From my understanding, no. However, I did only because I was 18 hours into a failed induced labor before it led to a c-section. I had literally finished off a cup of water before crap hit the fan and I needed to have a c-section. I personally did not get super nauseous or puke, luckily.

I had an emergency c section and was allowed to eat and drink through my labor(induced). Well I was puking my guts out while I had peoples hands digging my son out of me a few hours later... Definently don't recommend eating or drinking before.

They’ll tell you not to because they don’t want you to get nauseous and an empty stomach helps that, but I did and plenty of moms do

I was on jello and water for 30 plus hours induction before my csection. So I know I had water less than an hour before I went into the room. But they did tell me to stop eating jello and drinking water.
