I am going to see a fertility specialist. He wants to do an investigative cycle which means unmedicated and doing bloodwork and ultrasound to see when I ovulate etc. My husbands sperm count is on the lower end of normal (40 Milion) and I want to maximize my chances of conceiving. If I go in for bloodwork and ultrasound and they tell me I am having an lh surge should I have sex that day? And if so, how often after that should I have sex to maximize my chances? I know sperm can take a few days to build up their numbers. That is part of the reason why I don’t want to have sex too soon before my lh surge as I won’t know when the surge will happen and I want to have the highest concentration of sperm possible for when it does occur.
