Blood test?

Question

How soon can you have a blood test to confirm if you are pregnant once your period is late? Is it true you have to have not had your period come for at least two weeks before you can have the blood test? At home tests have been negative each time.

I dont think that's true. But I do think that typically, people/drs wait until their period is late by 2 weeks because sometimes you ovulate late much later in your cycle, so your period isnt really "late". Especially with negative urine tests. You can request a progesterone test along with hcg bc if the hcg is negative, and your progesterone is below 1, then that means you haven't ovulated at all yet. But if its >5, you did ovulate and will get your period/pos test within 2 weeks.

Answer

You can get a negative earlier than urine tests. Hcg levels will be much more concentrated than a urine test.
