When should a child call their parents S/O Dad or Mom?

In this scenario the opposite party (Mom or Dad) isn't involved in said childs life at all. Though the main parent 100% doesn't plan on liying to said child about who their true father is one way or another. Comment.

I dont think they should ever be obligated to call them mom or dad. Unless the child wants to. My dad has been married to his wife for 27 years. I'm 29. I've never once called her mom. She is my dads wife. That's all ill ever see her as.

This is a weird question.. a child never “should” call their parents SO mom or dad. If they want to eventually that’s great but it shouldn’t ever be expected.

My daughter started calling my now husband dad pretty early on. Like a few weeks or a couple months after meeting him. He was a huge part of our lives even back then. We kept correcting her but the majority of the time she still called him dad, so we gave up. Her bio dad saw her maybe once every year or 2 and made minimal effort to call her (which actually wasn't him calling. It was her wanting to talk to him so I would call. He never initiated). And he always let her down. Constantly saying how he would come see her on x day and then that day would come and go and we would hear nothing from him. My husband had a dad like that too so I think they bonded pretty quickly from that. He always comforted her when it happened. 
In short, I don't think there's an x amount of time a child SHOULD call someone mom or dad. It just depends on how they personally feel. Some never feel comfortable calling them mom or dad

Let it be up to the child, if they are comfortable and see that person as mom/dad then so be it, but don’t force it on the kid just because you got married. My step mom has been in my life since I was young and to this day I still don’t even like calling her my step mom.

This is kinda like my situation, I ended the relationship with my sons biological father when I was 5 months pregnant (he was abusive and into heavy drugs and stealing, I got a protective order) I met my boyfriend when my son was a year old and ever since my bf met my son he has been so great with him and treats him like he was his own. I told my bf that if he plans on being with me forever then I have no problem with my son calling him daddy, and he was so proud when my son called him Daddy. I have no intention of lying about his bio father but he is only 2 right now so he won't understand yet. He has never met his bio father and for his safety he probably never will

I started calling my step-father dad when I was around 6 or 7 years old. I still saw my biological father once in a while but it was just so nice to have a dad at home and he really did raise me and my older brother. He has been with my mom since I was around 4. I still call him dad and I am 29. My biological father left my mother for another woman and moved in with her when I was 3. He married her when I was 6. I never called her mom, I always referred to her by her first name. They ended up splitting up when I was around 15-16 and he remarried again anyways when I was 19. I like his 3rd wife better than his last wife but at that point I was an adult.

im coming from a divorced parent standpoint my mom has been married to her husband for about 11 years and i just call him by his name , same goes for my dads new wife, i just call HER by her own name but my dads wifes kids ( aka stepsiblings ) call my dad, Dad so it rrslly just depends on the age of thr children and if theyre ready

I have divorced parents and my step mom has always been my mom to me. I called my biological mother mama and in high school I started calling her by her first name as she was never interested in my life. She is currently married to her 5th husband and I never called any of them dad. I always called them by their first name. My biological mother always tried to force me to call her mom and her husband dad but it never stuck as I wasn't comfortable calling them that as that wasn't how I saw them in my life. It's not really feasible to force a kid to call you what you want to hear. When they're ready is always best
