Why can’t babies blow their nose?!

Question

What can I do for my EBF 7 month olds severe congestion? We are on day 2 of no naps & little-to-no night time sleep due to not being able to breathe. I have done saline and the bulb syringe, humidifier, essential oils in the diffuser, putting her in the bathroom while I shower..zero relief. I’m exhausted and so is she. It’s clear and literally just continues to run like a faucet. No other symptoms and otherwise happy. Help!

Ugh this is the worst!!  My LO had this a month ago, bad runny nose/congestion. It was a long few nights of no sleep and fussiness😖 We were EXHAUSTED. I hated seeing her struggle and I did all that you did too, it seemed it just had to run it’s course and after a couple few days it would start to get better. I will say out of the everything, the thing that probably helped the most when it was super runny was the nose Frieda! (she didn’t like it at all but it worked better than the bulb for me!) and applying Zarbees natural soothing rub under her nose, and giving Tylenol occasionally. Hope it passes soon and your LO feels better!

Just want to say I'm in the exact same situation right now. I feel you!! On top of that, I caught it from her so I'm sick too. I think that's all you can do. I have been holding her upright for naps and the beginning of bedtime for some relief, but it is very exhausting. Sometimes she is good about breathing through her mouth and doesn't seem to mind it. I just keep reminding myself that I'm happy she doesn't have a fever:) good luck!

Oh those bulbs don’t work. Do the nose frida, or whatever offbrand you find. Those actually work and you will suck the mucus out!

The Nose Frida, I swear by it. I was put off at first but after trying all sorts of extractors, this one is actually effective in clearing the sinuses.

Put a towel under under the head side of the crib. A little vaseline under the nose so it doesn’t get raw, a little baby vicks on the chest and sides of the neck seems to help our LO.

We are almost over after 2 weeks of every 30min/1hr wake-ups. 
Use a pillow to prop up, keep your baby close because if you're nursing wants to drink. Since breathing from the causes dry and sore throat. 
Along with saline drops I used olive oil to moisten her nostrils. Gave lots of tea, using a steamer or inhaler helps a lot. It has to run its course

Use a cool mist humidifier in their room when they sleep. Use saline nose spray with a battery operated baby nose aspirator to clear their nose. Use baby vicks chest rub.

Get hydrasense it’s like the nose frida and works WAY better than the bulb.
