How old were you when you had your first baby?

I’m just curious. I feel like I’m in a weird age group where I’m either older than other moms or younger. No one I know that is my age has a baby or had one years ago. So I’m wondering if women tend to have their first babies around the same ages.

Had my first at 22 (right after finishing my university degree), but I appear to be the exception, not the rule. In my area, either people got married and popped out a kid fresh out of highschool (around 19) or are waiting till late twenties-early thirties.

I think it’s regional and a socioeconomic thing. Among people I know, the first wave of babies were around age 29-32. I’m now 39 and there’s another wave that started at around 36-40, that I’m in the middle of. I had my first at 37 and am expecting my second. Several of my friends have also just had babies in the last 2-3 years or are now trying to conceive their first. I see on Glow that tons of people have their first between 20-25 but I don’t know a single person who did that.

I was 33. Most of my friends, and especially most of our friends now, have been similar in age. We all waited to start families until we had a solid career started. We are all a few years apart, so our kids are anywhere from 0-8, but most of us had our kids when we were 29-35 or so.

I had my first at 35. We were lucky we didn't have to try hard and it just happened. By that point I did worry a bit that I prioritised my career and left it too late for it to naturally happen. but baby is a reality now. 
Many of my friends are older or had their first child even older. It felt like I knew a lot of female artists and women academics who only had kids at 40, even 45. As if they couldn't do it earlier because of the years required and precarity of early academic jobs, like one had to finish the doctorate, then post-doc, then obtain tenure first... But of course hidden in all these is the cost of fertility. Expensive IVF. Etc...
I had my first baby within the same 3 month period as two other artists I know of roughly the same age as me.(their firsts too). That was weird. We never planned it and never talked about babies until then. Our babies got to meet up and the babies were 5, 6, 7 months consecutively.

I was 25 with my first and felt young when going to mom groups. I’ll be 30 for baby #2 so we will see how I fell this time around!
