Those of you that held your baby for naps... did you ruin your baby?

Question

My LO will only nap longer than 30 min in my arms. She will be 4 months on Saturday. I told myself that I wouldn’t do it anymore but I can’t help myself. I love holding her and I’m not so sure how to go about the 30 min naps. Do I still feed her every three hours or change to two hours, two in a half? She sleeps through the night.

I’m currently holding my son while he sleeps haha. He won’t sleep longer than about 20-30 minutes if I put him down, so usually if I know he needs a good nap I’ll just hold him. I don’t see any harm in it. The way I look at it, he’s never going to be this little again, so I’m soaking in all the baby snuggles while I can because one day he’s not going to let me hold him like this anymore.

My baby naps on me every single nap and sleeps 7-11 hours straight at night in her crib

Apparently it’s normal for babies naps to last between 20-120 minutes!! My daughter naps in her crib for about 25minutes and then i let her nap on me! So we do that the first two naps and the last nap she’ll nap on me

Held my 2yr old all the time when she was a baby. She’s amazing at going to bed. She tucks herself in and goes to sleep since she was an infant. No struggles. Sleeps all night.

I held my daughter for naps and then when she started daycare she had to be put down to sleep with no swaddle or pacifier or being held. She had a rough first couple of days and disnt nap well. Now (a week later) she will nap 40-60mins a time usually (with some shorter naps thrown in).

I hold my baby when he needs or wants it. Cant tell you if its ruined him or not since he is only 3 months. My thinking is why deprive my poor child if he wants snuggles? He isnt going to want them forever. Sometimes he wants to be left alone already. I am going to take full advantage of our snuggle time while i can 🥰

My daughter was like this and when she was ready, she started fussing when I tried to hold her to sleep. She now sleeps in her noses basket for all naps and at bedtime with no fuss at all. So in answer to your question, no it didn’t ruin and spoil my baby. I used her cues and held her when she needed it.
