My Birth story

Candace • Wife & mommy💕

Olivia Kate decided to make her entrance into the world 15 days early on 2-8-2020!!

After working all day, I decided to go get a mani/pedi while her daddy was enjoying his last day of hunting for the season. My mother in law invited us over to dinner so on my way there to meet him I had thought that my water had started leaking. While at my MIL’s house, I never mentioned that I thought my water was breaking bc I wanted to be 100% sure first😅

Once we got home, I did a squat to test it and walked a few feet to our kitchen counter and it finally happened!! I looked over at my husband and just said “hey, my waters breaking”. He thought that I was messing with him and said he had to make sure I wasn’t holding a water bottle😂 once he realized it was actually happening, he said “oh, sh*t” and started panic pack mode!

Once we got to the hospital it was confirmed that my water had broke. I was dilated to a 2 and 80% effaced, which was the same that I was at my last check. We were admitted and I was finally able to rest. When she checked me again a few hours later my contractions had stopped almost completely and I had not dilated anymore. Doctor decided to start petocin at this point. A few hours later I was checked again and had only progressed to a 3 and was still 80%. They continued upping the petocin about every hour or so to attempt to strengthen the contractions. 20 hours had passed since my water had broken, the contractions had gotten extremely painful, were coming on back to back, and the IV medicine would no longer touch the pain. I was checked again and dilation had not budged at all. We decided to go ahead with a C-Section. While I was being prepped and set up for the epidural, the contractions did not slack up AT ALL. The worst part of this experience was getting the epidural and continuously contracting at the same time.

Baby girl is perfect in every way and I would do it all over again for her💕
