How are so many of you getting induced? I need answers

I was induced and other then them not getting my epidural in and going with no pain meds it was great! I was induced at 39 weeks on 1/28, my labor was 9 hours long from start to finish and only had one dose of cytotec. Needed nothing else. I was up walking and using the bathroom alone by a few hours after and felt good by the time I was discharged. This was my second kid though so that could have made everything easier

I’m literally having the same problem. I’m 38 weeks & 4 days and my doctor approved me for an elective induction at 39 weeks but I’ve been waiting for a call when they can schedule me in for the induction which may or may not be before my due date even though I’m due in 11 days. The only reason I want to get induced is baby is already measuring at 40 weeks and I can’t breathe sleep or do much at this point, lots of pain, shakiness and dizziness, my ob says it’s because my body’s gotten at its limit already. My son is already 8 pounds 9 ounces and still growing every day. I’m miserable.

Itsnot a good thing in my mind. I was induced with my first and will do anything include go 2 weeks late to avoid that again!  Currently 40+4

I talked to my doctor about getting induced at my 36 week appointment for 39 weeks (that’s when they’ll do it) and then she checked to see how dilated I was and I was 3cm so she said I probably wouldn’t make it to 39 weeks. But here I am 38 weeks and 4 days and I see my ob tomorrow again and I’m going to talk about getting induced again. But my ob I think is okay with it just because I’m so uncomfortable and I think she can see it.

I don’t want to be induced but I have gestational diabetes so they need to get baby out sooner rather than later 😔 I’m still 🤞 she decides to come on her own before Sunday

I was induced with both pregnancies, so I don’t have anything to compare it to but I’ll tell you about mine. 
With my first I wasn’t dilated at all when I went it. The process was long. 50 hours from checking in to birth. It wasn’t uncomfortable for most of that time. I pushed for 2 hrs. It was a slow process but it was fine. 
With my recent, I was 3 cm when I checked in and the whole process took a little less than 24 hours. It was more painful but quicker. I only pushed for 14 minutes. 
I was induced for medical reasons so I never questioned it. The positive was that my water didn’t break in the middle of the grocery store and I didn’t give birth while my husband was driving to the hospital. It’s convenient for planning purposes 😂 good luck!

I was induced due to preeclampsia. It was my first birth so I'm not sure how it's supposed to go, but I would not recommend it. I wish I could've waited.
