I couldn't find a direct definition but found this quote: "“Aspiring to be a higher class than one is. Derived from bourgeois - meaning middle/upper class, traditionally despised by communists.”

I took offense to this term because it made me feel like I was being told I'm lower class than I act. In other words to act according to how others view me. I was told by a few family and friends and a couple of exes that I'm Bougie, stuck up, and high maintenance.

I guess I'm curious to what this means (the terms) because I'm the most down to earth person. I don't wear name brand ANYTHING hardly.

Would you be offended if someone called you these things?
