Is he ready?

Question

I’m in a fresh relationship and my boyfriend travels more than the average person. He will go on week trips to snowboard with his friends, etc. I am never invited since we are fresh and since I have a child so I think that’s why he never asks. 
My concern is..... is someone that takes frequent trips someone that can also settle down? He’s 30, I am almost 30. I just feel like the traveling would get in the way which I have mentioned before but he’s said that he’s 30 and that he wants our live styles to mend together (I do not travel a lot.. I’m a mom)

I’ve traveled a lot for work in my 20s. I work as a freelancer. I also traveled with my husband sometimes. It hurt the relationship as it’s just not a stable way to live. I just had my daughter and I am wanting to travel much less and work from home. I think my husband and I are finally slowing down, at first he was on fire about travel and didn’t want to flow down. That was a rough patch but we got through it and now are on the same page. I think you really have to think if you want to invest in someone like that, if you can mesh the lifestyle then do it but it’s going to be hard and maybe even a little unrealistic. Anything is possible but really be realistic before you end up getting hurt later staying at home sad while he lives on his life

Personally, I like taking a lot of trips, my boyfriend can't always right now... 
So he's ok with me doing my thing. He knows it's important to me & maybe later we'll travel together, but it might be a few years from now.
It's kind of a compromise, which some people can do, thankfully.
However, I understand you are a parent, and your child needs to be the center of your life. That makes sense. It makes sense you'd travel with your child, or not often at all. 
You may not even see the appeal of traveling regularly. It may strike you as expensive, stressful or just unnecessary. 
And that's all fine.
But do you want to be with someone who still wants to do those things? Are you ok having a partner who travels?

Lol I’m a mom and I travel. Cruises, hiking trips, skiing, beach vacations etc. I even leave the country. Plus I have 4 kids. My husband and I have always traveled, however I didn’t leave the country until I met him and we planned our first trip to central and South America together. We do many mini weekend get aways through out the year. One adult only vacation for 5 - 7 days. And one 7 days family vacation. It sounds like you need to talk to your BF it’s never to early to find out if you guys have the same goals and desires out of life. It’s also good to set expectations soon. If the two of you are on two different pages don’t sweat it you’ll find someone whose right for you. But don’t let vacations and get aways sway your opinion they’re really not a bad thing and it’s easy traveling with kids, I think if everything else with you two is 💯 it would be silly to throw away to good relationship bc you are currently not interested in traveling that could always change especially if you can take your child with you.
