Need advice

I posted yesterday about a mold issue in my home (a potential mold issue I should say).

I found a leak under my kitchen sink so I cleaned it up and ran the water and even the disposal to see which pipe was leaking and I couldn’t find it. So I called the maintenance man the next day because I found it after hours and I didn’t think it was urgent. Well ever since I cleaned it up I have been sick. Dry itchy cough, I mean I am coughing every other minute. Unless I have a cough drop in. I have to sleep with one in or my husband will be up all night with my coughing. This has gone on for a week now. The maintenance man came yesterday and told me they have to gut my entire kitchen because there is a horizontal leak from a pipe behind the cabinets between the cabinets and the brick wall outside. They will not rip the brick wall up so they will gut the kitchen instead. He did admit there was mildew back there but he denies any mold. What I find odd is that he taped off my entire cabinet under the sink. I got a mold kit yesterday and tested what I thought was mold on the window sill (which he looked at but wiped away). I have it on almost every window sill in this house so I used it to test. The test didn’t show positive until after the time frame so I didn’t want to really say it was positive because I’m sure it’s invalid at that point. I feel like they’re giving me the run around. I have a 3 year old and a 9 month old, if I am living amongst mold I’d like to know so I can get my kids out of here. This is horrible timing bc my husband goes to CA for training in 2 weeks and will be gone for a month. They say I’m going to a hotel soon but can’t give me a date. So I asked if they can offer us another home and they said no but yet I will be in a hotel for 30 days while my kitchen gets redone. I have 2 kids and a dog so that will be horrible living in a hotel that long. We did it with one child and a dog before when we first moved here and it sucked. Our base is in a lawsuit with 30 other families for mold and them trying to just paint over it, wipe it away, or mask the problem. Peoples kids have had seizures from mold exposure. We shouldn’t have to live like this. I just feel like they’re downplaying the issue in my house. I can smell the musty, damp smell when I leave and come back home. Why would they tape my kitchen cabinets shut if I don’t have mold.

I plan to call my doctor and get a blood test because even with seasonal allergies I have never been this miserable coughing. Has anyone been through this before?
