Bruising in childbirth?

My son was just born this morning and he has this terrible bruising from a very fast dialation and delivery...also his cord was wrapped around his neck...has anyone had this happen to their baby? The Dr says it's normal and hes healthy but I'm paraniod.

Yes it’s normal! My daughter was very bruised because her head was stuck by my pelvic bone or whatever. I was in so much pain during and after as well, I felt bruised myself. My daughter had quite a bit of bruising! Don’t worry your baby is fine and it’ll go away!

My son had it and both his eyes were bloody from such a fast delivery it took a while but it went away.

Two of my babies had extensive facial bruising at birth. It scared some nurses and caused my kiddos to be jaundice (processing the extra blood cells from the bruising), but they are healthy 2 & 4 year olds now. No worries.

Hi, NICU nurse here. It's totally normal & common. It's from his head being squished by the pelvic bones. It will go away soon. Nothing to worry about. Congrats!

very normal! when i had my son 12/30 i pushed once and they told me he came so quick he had a perfect head and lots of face bruising actually, i believe it’s from the force so quick, but no don’t worry!! ❤️

My son had the cord wrapped around his neck twice and tight. He had bruising on his head but was gone in a week or so

My girl had mild facial bruising since I pushed for less than a half hour but a few blood vessels in her eyes popped so her eyes looked pretty bad for a couple weeks but it eventually went away and she's now a year old and doing just fine!

My first did because they misplaced the internal monitor, caused some jaundice but she as alright after a week or so.

My son who is now 4 did the same thing he was so purple from cord wrapped around his neck people thought he was dead in photos! It is normal. It took my baby a couple months for the bruising to go away. Congratulations!
