Bleeding after IUD removal?

Hello so my SO and I decided that I get my IUD removed. It shows I'm not supposed to have a period for another 12 days but today,2 days after removal, I have heavy bleeding. I had my IUD removed Tuesday morning and again according to this app I was ovulating the 11th. Is this normal to bleed like this? Also how do I know when to have sex to try to conceive if I'm bleeding?
