Where do you guys go to get your hcg drawn?

My ob won’t see me til late next month, and my doctor til the end of this month. Is there somewhere else I could go to get it drawn?

If you don't have a history of miscarrying, they don't do it. The only reason I'm getting mine done is because I had a loss in September and my doctor is very proactive. A nurse just does it at the office and then I go home. Last time I had to wait until 9 weeks, for the regular ultrasound appointment, which is when they found I had a missed miscarriage.

Do you already know that your pregnant or are you trying to find that out with getting hcg drawn?

Mine are done through my fertility clinic due to my history of infertility and recurrent miscarriages. They don't routinely draw them if you have no history unless there is a reason to be concerned. That being said if your doctor will send an order to a lab you can get it at any independent lab like Quest Diagnostics or LabCorp.

I was in the ER once with my daughter who was bleeding due to tripping and nearly biting her tongue off and the people in the next “stall” were waiting for the HCG results. Don’t think I’d really recommend using an ER for that. I didn’t get blood with my first pregnancy, and won’t with this one. If you’re really concerned, call the OB or doctor and ask. They may send you to an urgent care or something that does blood tests etc (my local one did my daughter’s basic one year blood work).
