What’s the best way to use the inserts ?

I have sun baby pocket diapers with a fleece surface. I put one microfiber insert in the pocket. My baby is a year old. I also have Bamboo inserts but not sure how to use them. I know I have two ways to either put it in the pocket or on top in the diaper it not sure what’s the best combination. My son is not a big wetter either. I think Stuffing the diaper would make them not fit too well either since he’s a baby boy.
