My parents really want me to go to college, but I think it’s all bogus (system is too broken). My boyfriend and I want to move to Hawaii and live a hippie life. 🌺 in the wilderness, eating fruit all day

Chose which ever is gonna give you financial security and a roof over your head in the future...no offense to your dreams of becoming a hippie, but you gotta be rational once in a while

so do you plan on buying land there? or trespassing? hawaii is even more expensive than california. the average hourly wage needed to afford a two bedroom APARTMENT is $36/hr in hawaii. at the very least, make a career for yourself if not higher education (which isn't for everyone, and that's okay). it's wishful thinking to think you'll live an idyllic hippie life. it's definitely possible, but still requires some sort of income. unless you move to someplace where most people actually live almost completely off the land and disconnected from most first world creature comforts.

Honey you aren’t married you got to go get a education so you can do stuff like that and not have to rely on anyone. It would suck if you moved and we’re stuck. If he really loves you y’all will make it work but please hear me out when I say education is everything.
