IUD Removal Update
About a week and a half ago, I posted about my primary doctor (husband is military, and we have to go through the base medical center before going to specialists) attempting to remove my Kyleena IUD and being unsuccessful. My insurance referred me to a Planned Parenthood, as they were probably the only place in the area that could fit me in quickly.
Well, I went in today and the staff were so nice, but this stubborn piece of plastic is still very much stuck. The doctor today said that she didn’t want to risk breaking the IUD or cause a ton of pain, and while the strings were getting longer, it wouldn’t come past the cervix.
I go back in on Monday, and they’re going to do mild sedation before making the next attempt. I’m pretty nervous, since my only other experience with being sedated was when I was 10 and had teeth removed due to overcrowding, but the medication never kicked in. So... I’m nervous. But I’m hoping the sedation loosens things up enough that they’ll be able to get it right out...!
