Nightmare?

Question

How do you know if your baby is having a nightmare?  Or woke up from a nightmare?

She’ll have her eyes closed, not move her body much, and do a little sad cry/whine. If she’s on me she’ll go back to sleep.  I think it wakes her when she’s in her bed and then she can’t settle and cries mama.

Mine sits up and cries with his eyes closed. I lay him down and he stops crying after a minute or so. My oldest did the same and it progressed to standing up rocking while crying, and eventually running to the front door and yanking on the handle 🤦‍♀️ sleep walking and talking runs in the family though.

Mine makes a really mournful, Nasaly cry and then is quite again.

The way he cries and doesn't open his eyes. He is totally inconsolable and takes a while to calm down.
