Anyone Else?
Ever since middle school I have struggled with depression. As a high schooler I fell into self harm as a coping mechanism. I have seriously contemplated suicide several times, with one unsuccessful attempt. Now I have always had great grades, played sports, and been involved with extracurriculars. No reason to be depressed. So, I graduated last year and am currently attending college. I have no goals in life, nothing I’m passionate about, I have a few family issues I deal with. I am walking through life as if I’m on auto-pilot. Every few months I spiral into depressive thoughts about suicide again. But otherwise I just try to live ignoring and pretending I’m happy. This is just scratching the surface but I was wondering if this is something other people deal with? Should I try therapy? Do I just keep living like this?
